About the Role
As a Senior Property Underwriter, you'll be evaluating complex risks and developing tailored insurance solutions for corporate clients across France. This valuable position combines technical expertise with relationship management, allowing you to make informed decisions that balance profitability with portfolio growth in one of Europe's key markets.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate opportunities
by triaging new submissions and identifying promising prospects in collaboration with underwriting and commercial teams
Analyze risks
by examining exposures and coverages to identify and negotiate optimal insurance solutions
Coordinate global solutions
by managing international programs and working with cross-border teams to deliver seamless client experiences
Build relationships
through proactive communication with clients and brokers, ensuring transparency and responsiveness
Ensure compliance
by underwriting business in strict accordance with internal processes, guidelines, and authority levels
Develop strategies
to strengthen our position on existing accounts and sell additional lines of business
Support marketing
initiatives for Corporate Solution's products through active participation in broker visits
Cultivate partnerships
with brokers to ensure a consistent flow of new submissions
Foster collaboration
by promoting positive interaction with internal peers
Communicate effectively
in an active, timely, and open manner
About the Team
The Property France team specializes in providing comprehensive property insurance solutions to corporate clients across the French market, from very large accounts to mid-sized enterprises. The team consists of 9 experienced underwriters including the manager, creating a collaborative and supportive environment for professional growth and success.
About You
You're a thoughtful professional with strong analytical skills and an ability to develop professional relationships. Recognized in the market, you bring technical knowledge that enables sound underwriting decisions while identifying business opportunities. You work well both independently and as part of a team, effectively communicating complex insurance concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience in property insurance underwriting, with demonstrated expertise in risk assessment and pricing
Comprehensive knowledge of the French property insurance market, including regulatory requirements and emerging trends
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks and determine appropriate coverage solutions
Proven portfolio management and steering capabilities
Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills to develop team members and enhance overall underwriting capabilities
Excellent negotiation abilities and proven experience in broker/client relationship management
Ability to promote positive interaction and collaboration with internal peers
Capacity to communicate actively, timely and with openness
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent command of French
Nice to Have
Knowledge of additional European insurance markets
Appetite for digital underwriting tools and analytics platforms
The estimated base salary range in France for this position is from EUR 91.000 to EUR 137,000.
The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
