Our team studies biological systems using cutting‑edge chemical tools, particularly environmentally sensitive fluorescent probes. By integrating expertise in chemistry, biology, and photophysics, we develop and apply these tools to investigate molecular interactions, cellular processes, and biomolecular environments. Our research advances both fundamental understanding and practical applications in bioimaging, microbiology, and diagnostics.
Our current main interests focus on developing chemical tools to study bacterial defense mechanisms and to diagnose bacterial infections. However, we are open to a broad range of projects in the field of fluorescent probes for chemical biology, imaging, and diagnostics.
Our team is founded on inclusion and diversity as core principles for meaningful and creative research. We value independence, creativity, and authenticity, and we foster a benevolent environment where everyone feels safe to share ideas, ask questions, and learn from mistakes. Mutual respect, openness, and collaboration guide our work, alongside a strong commitment to well‑being and a healthy life–work balance.
