ROLE
As part of the strengthening of our teams, we are looking for a:
RESEARCH ENGINEER IN DATA ANALYSIS
Your role consists of developing research, services, and consulting for customer applications marketed by METEODYN in various fields, particularly in the analysis of satellite data for offshore wind resources and wind energy production.

The RESEARCH ENGINEER will be part of METEODYN France, and report to METEODYN’s Research, Innovation, Service & Expertise (RISE) department.
MISSIONS
In collaboration with METEODYN Group (France, China, India) and CLS Brest, your main missions will be the following:
Research:
Improvement and adaptation of products derived from SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite data processing for calculating wind speed and wind power potential at turbine height
Development of innovative and high-performance technical solutions
Writing technical documentation and processes
Participation in research reports
External representation of METEODYN (working groups, scientific projects and publications, conferences, partnerships, outreach)
Development:
Design, maintain, and develop analysis tools and algorithms
Technical management, development, and validation of SAR data generation/post-processing
Continuous improvement in line with developments in libraries
Participation in customer relations and technical bid proposals
Conducting technical studies
Monitoring and validation of the Offshore Measurement Mast Service Service
Developing multiple versions of the product or a version specific to a customer request
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Technical skills:
PhD in satellite remote sensing, geophysics, atmospheric sciences or applied mathematics
From 3 to 5 years of experience
Very good knowledge in processing SAR satellite data for surface wind reconstruction
Knowledge of observation/satellite meteorology
Knowledge of AI usages for data analysis
Strong programming skills in Python (experience with scientific computing libraires)
Knowledge of version control system Git
Experience with WPS server/request
Practical and applied research
Scientific rigor, autonomy, dynamism, responsiveness
Ability to communicate and work in a team
Very good written and spoken scientific English
