Context
We are seeking a proactive and motivated Fabrication HSE Advisor to support our client’s activities at the Schwartz Hautmont fabrication yard. This role is key to ensuring that our client and Contractor fabrication activities are carried out in full compliance with applicable legislation, client requirements HSE standards. Reporting to the Project(s) HSE Manager(s) and working closely with the our client's Site Representative and fabrication yard teams, the Fabrication HSE Advisor will provide day-to-day HSE support, promote a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement in HSE performance.
The job holder shall adopt and demonstrate exemplary behaviour regarding our client’s Ethics & Code of Conduct and HSE rules and regulations.
What will you be doing?
HSE Leadership & Support o Support and implement the client's Project HSE Plan, safety initiatives/programs and HSE objectives at the fabrication yard. o Act as a visible HSE presence on site, engaging with supervision and workforce to promote proactive safety behavior. o Provide HSE advice and support to the Site Representative, Project HSE HSSE Manager(s), supervision and operational teams.
Implementation of HSE Requirements o Monitor the effective implementation of Project HSE documentation, procedures and safe working practices at the yard. o Liaise actively with Project HSE Leads/Managers to stay informed of any changes impacting HSE at the fabrication site. o Develop and/or adapt HSE instructions, procedures, toolbox talk materials and other HSE tools specific to the fabrication activities, where required. o Work in close collaboration with fabrication yard HSE Advisors / Coordinators to ensure alignment between our client and yard HSE requirements.
Site Inspections & Monitoring o Conduct regular and ad-hoc HSE inspections and safety tours across all work areas, including subcontractor zones. o Ensure that identified non-conformances and unsafe conditions/behaviors are recorded, reported and followed up to closure. o Intervene, stop work and immediately inform the Site Representative and Project HSE Leads/Managers in case of any anomaly, violation or unsafe practice. o Participate in HSSE Committee meetings and contribute to action tracking and closure.
Risk Management & Work Preparation o Participate in HIRAs and site-specific TRAs/JRAs, ensuring that fabrication risks (welding, cutting, lifting, working at height, confined spaces, etc.) are adequately assessed and controlled. o Support line supervision in the preparation and review of SIMOPS-related risk controls, where applicable.
Meetings, Communication & Training o Attend and actively participate in daily coordination meetings, pre-job meetings and Toolbox Talks. o Contribute HSE input to Kick-O Meetings (KOMs) with suppliers and subcontractors as required. o Support the delivery of HSE inductions, briefings and campaigns; reinforce key messages at the workface.
Incident Management & Reporting o Ensure that all anomalies, near-misses, incidents and accidents are reported, recorded in Synergi database and followed up in line with client requirements. o Assist in incident/accident investigations (fact finding, root cause analysis, development and follow-up of corrective actions). o Maintain and update required HSE indicators (KPIs) for fabrication activities and contribute to trend analysis and improvement actions. o Prepare and submit daily and weekly HSE reports to the Project HSE Lead and Site Representative.
HSE Systems & Administration o Use and help maintain online safety systems and tools (e.g. incident reporting, action tracking, audit/inspection records). o Support HSE document control at site level (procedures, risk assessments, method statements, inductions, permits, etc.). o Implement and follow up self-verification activities and SUWER (or equivalent) checklists, ensuring that findings are addressed.

Experience / Education
English language essential, Spanish advantageous
10 + years Health and Safety experience
Professional Health and Safety qualification
Vocational training in high-risk work activities (e.g. working at height)
