JOB DESCRIPTION:
This role, a direct report to the Group Director of Tax, plays a vital role in providing indirect tax advisory services on strategic commercial and functional initiatives for HBX Group globally. Working closely with the Director of Tax, senior tax managers in the tax and functional teams and the commercial organisation to develop tax optimisation and strategies, the role holder will play a key role in the Finance organisation and the wider HBX organization. There will be many opportunities to interact with the most senior management within HBX and to deputise for the Director of Tax in certain situations.
As Head of Indirect Taxes, the role will require the holder to take responsibility for all indirect tax affairs related to the HBX business operating model, working closely with key commercial and finance leadership across HBX headquarters functions and global and regional businesses.
The role key areas of work will be:
> Update on Indirect Taxes legislation changes and impact.
> Indirect Tax risk identification, mitigation and management
> Tax authority relationships and liaison for Indirect Tax purposes.
> Tax litigation & tax audit management for Indirect Tax purposes.
> Business advisory on the Indirect Tax area
> Support on specific key projects (M&A) for specific Indirect tax topics.
This is a senior tax role requiring excellent tax technical skills across many different types of tax and how these apply and interact in different countries. Excellent communication and practical skills will be needed to communicate across the group at all levels (most senior management to junior staff) and to educate and influence the commercial and functional areas on tax and how this adds value to the overall HBX’ business strategy.

Experience
+ 8 years of experience in a multinational tax environment experience highly regarded.
Travel industry experience strongly recommended (TOM´s).
Detailed knowledge of international tax matters and advisory for direct/indirect taxes.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Team player.
Good communication skills with fluency in English and Spanish.
Role is Hybrid with a Spanish base and frequent international travel
Qualifications
University degree – 2.1
Accountancy/finance qualification – ACA/CPA or equivalent
Tax qualification – CIOT (ATII)/Masters’
Minimum of 8 years post-qualified experience
