Customs Compliance & Operations Manager in charge of all customs-related activities for a newly established business entity in Zaragoza.
Main responsibilities
To provide expert customs knowledge, technical support and guidance to operational teams to ensure efficient, lean, and fully compliant customs processes/operations
.
Responsibility for the AEO authorization request, management and reviews.
Management of relationship with the Spanish Customs and Tax administration.
To support other areas of the Group as customs referent for issues related to Spain operations (mainly Supply Chain, Tax, Projects, Purchasing and Finance).
To analyze flows and processes in order to optimize the performance of the department in aligment with the Supply Chain team.
Reporting and performance management: monitor and report KPIs related to Customs operations and provide regular updates on customs compliance, risks and national regulatory updates.
Audit & Compliance: manage internal/external audits, including AEO reviews.
Provide training and guidance to internal teams on customs compliance.
Employee requirements:
Education & Experience:
University degree in the area of tax & legal or graduates from Spanish Customs administration.
Experience of at least 5 years in Customs, with some experience in managing teams.
Strong knowledge of customs regulations at national and EU level and experience in managing relationship with Customs Authorities
Experience in implementing and managing customs simplified procedures (approved consignee, entry in the declarant's records, customs guarantees, approved consignor, etc..) and Special Regimes (IPR, OPR, End Use).
Personal skills
Excellent analytical thinking and ability to work effectively under stress with a sense of personal responsibility
Ability to create team spirit and work as a team within the global customs team as well as with other organizational units;
Abililty to adapt to changes and innovative/agile approach to projects;
Good communication and organizational skills;
Continuous improvement mindset.
Language skills:
Fluent in English.
Native in Spanish.
Other information:
Position should be physically based in Spain; main activities will be related (but not limited) to activities in the Zaragoza Plant. Other plants in Spain are located in Madrid and Vigo.
