Hi everyone!

We are seeking a highly skilled

Splunk SME / Observability Engineer

to join our team on a

6‑month contract

The ideal candidate is a senior technical specialist with deep expertise in

Splunk SPL

and strong working knowledge of

Dynatrace DQL

. In this role, you will support the development and refinement of an internal

translation tool

designed to convert Splunk analytics, dashboards, and alert logic into Dynatrace equivalents.

You will play a key part in ensuring

parity, accuracy, and performance

between both platforms while also contributing improvements to observability best practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities Translate

Splunk SPL queries

into

Dynatrace DQL

, ensuring functional and analytical equivalence. Review, optimize, and validate dashboards and alerts across Splunk and Dynatrace. Perform detailed

side‑by‑side comparisons

to confirm data integrity, alert behavior, and metric/log parity. Support the engineering team in enhancing the

Splunk → Dynatrace translation tool

, providing logic improvements and technical feedback. Evaluate and recommend improvements to

tagging standards

,

data models

, observability workflows, and platform configurations. Produce clear, lightweight

documentation, runbooks, decision logs

, and guidance for ongoing tool maintenance.

Required Skills & Experience Advanced hands‑on experience with

Splunk

, including: SPL query creation & optimization Dashboard development Alert configuration Strong understanding of

Dynatrace

, including: Dashboards DQL Logs / Grail Metrics & traces Solid foundation in

observability fundamentals

: Logs, metrics, traces Baselines and anomaly detection Telemetry ingestion & correlation Ability to independently perform

data validation

and ensure platform parity. Strong communication skills with the ability to create concise documentation and explain technical concepts clearly.

Contract Details Duration:

6 months Location: Remote in Spain (only eligible to people working/living in Spain)
