About the Client

My client is the air transport industry's IT provider, delivering solutions for airlines, airports, aircraft, and governments. Their technology powers more seamless, safe, and sustainable air travel. They are looking to hire an experienced Senior Software Architect on a contract basis until the end of 2026, with a potential view to extend or convert to a permanent position.

About the Role A seasoned and forward-thinking Senior Software Architect to define, govern, and evolve the architecture of complex, mission-critical software systems across Our client’s portfolios.

Acting as a technical authority and strategic partner, you will ensure that architectural decisions align with business objectives, product strategy, and long-term platform sustainability. This role has a strong cross-cutting responsibility across software, data, and integration domains. While the primary mandate is software architecture, the position offers an optional focus on Data and AI architectures, particularly for products leveraging large-scale data processing, analytics, and intelligent systems in the aviation domain.

You will work within the Architecture Team, collaborating closely with domain and portfolio architects, under the leadership of the Chief Architect.

What we are looking for Education • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience • 8–10+ years of experience in software architecture or senior technical roles. • Proven track record designing architectures for complex, distributed, and mission-critical systems. • Experience in regulated or high-reliability environments (aviation, transportation, industrial systems) is a strong advantage.

Technical Expertise • Software architecture patterns and principles • Distributed systems, APIs, and integration • Cloud platforms and hybrid hosting models • SQL and NoSQL databases • Event streaming and messaging platforms • Data pipelines and analytics architectures • Familiarity with aviation data formats (e.g., ACARS, QAR, DAR) is a plus. • Exposure to AI/ML architectures is beneficial but not mandatory.

Soft Skills • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences. • Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. • Natural mentor with a passion for engineering excellence and architectural discipline
