Job Summary:
MIDAD Energy
is seeking a
Senior Reservoir Engineer
based in
Madrid
to lead
reservoir engineering activities
for our
North Africa projects
(Algeria, etc.). This role focuses on
reservoir simulation, field development planning, production optimization, and integrated reservoir management
to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and profitability. The ideal candidate will have
extensive experience in North African fields
, a strong background in
reservoir modeling and dynamic simulation
, and the ability to collaborate with
multidisciplinary teams
to drive strategic decisions for our assets in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Reservoir Simulation & Dynamic Modeling
Develop and maintain
dynamic reservoir models
using industry-standard software (
Eclipse, INTERSECT, Petrel RE
).
Conduct
reservoir simulation studies
to evaluate recovery mechanisms (e.g., waterflooding, gas injection, EOR).
Integrate
geological, petrophysical, and production data
to refine models and improve prediction accuracy for North African reservoirs.
2. Field Development Planning (FDP)
Lead
reservoir engineering input
for
Field Development Plans (FDPs)
in North Africa, including well placement, production strategies, and economic evaluations.
Optimize
reservoir depletion strategies
to maximize recovery and profitability in alignment with business objectives.
Collaborate with
drilling, production, and operations teams
to ensure reservoir engineering aligns with field execution.
3. Production Optimization & Forecasting
Generate
short-term and long-term production forecasts
for North African assets using probabilistic and deterministic methods.
Conduct
economic evaluations
(NPV, ROI, sensitivity analysis) to support investment decisions.
Assess
reservoir performance trends
(e.g., water cut, GOR) and recommend interventions (e.g., workovers, stimulations).
4. Reservoir Surveillance & Monitoring
Monitor
reservoir performance
through production data, pressure surveys, and well tests.
Analyze
well performance and reservoir behavior
to identify optimization opportunities.
Design and interpret
well tests
(e.g., pressure transient analysis) to assess reservoir connectivity and productivity.
5. Integrated Reservoir Management
Work closely with
geoscientists, petrophysicists, and production engineers
to develop
integrated reservoir management plans
for North African fields.
Provide
technical recommendations
for reservoir management committees and field reviews.
Ensure alignment between
reservoir engineering, geological models, and operational constraints
.
6. Collaboration with North Africa Teams
Liaise with
local teams in Algeria and North Africa
to ensure reservoir engineering practices align with
field operations and regional regulations
.
Support
knowledge transfer and capacity building
for local engineers and technicians.
Participate in
technical workshops and reviews
with North African stakeholders.
7. Technical Reporting & Compliance
Prepare
technical reports, presentations, and recommendations
for management and stakeholders.
Document
reservoir studies, simulations, and development plans
in compliance with
company standards and North African regulatory requirements
(e.g., Sonatrach, NOC).
Support
regulatory filings and audits
related to reservoir management.
8. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
Mentor
junior reservoir engineers
and provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
Lead or participate in
technical training and knowledge-sharing initiatives
.
Promote
innovation and best practices
in reservoir engineering.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or related field
.
SPE membership or relevant certifications
are a plus.
Experience:
10+ years of reservoir engineering experience
, with a
strong focus on North African fields
(Algeria, etc.).
Proven expertise in
reservoir simulation, field development planning, and production forecasting
.
Experience in
clastic reservoirs
and familiarity with
North African operational standards
(e.g., Sonatrach, NOC).
Knowledge of
local regulatory frameworks
and industry practices.
Technical Skills:
Reservoir simulation software
: Eclipse, INTERSECT.
Production forecasting and economic evaluation tools
(e.g., Peeps, Aries).
Well test analysis and pressure transient interpretation
.
Data analytics and visualization
(Python, Spotfire, or Power BI is a plus).
Familiarity with Algerian/North Africa field practices and standards
.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
(English and French mandatory; Spanish is a plus).
Ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams

Leadership and mentoring capabilities

Languages:
Fluent in English and French
