At Rob Surgical we are looking to hire a

Biomedical Design Engineer

to join our R&D team.

About us We are a healthtech company specialized in the development of advanced robotic systems for high-precision minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 2012 as a spin-off from UPC and IBEC, our mission is clear: to make robot-assisted surgery more accessible, precise, and efficient worldwide.

What will your mission be? As a Biomedical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design and development of medical devices, from concept and prototyping to characterization and documentation. You will work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams, contributing to product innovation while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

Your main responsibilities will include: Conceptualization and characterization of biomedical device designs. Drafting and execution of test protocols on prototypes. Research of state-of-the-art technologies and benchmarking studies. Communication with suppliers and leadership of specific design lines. Collaboration in design control tasks and preparation of design-related documentation. Design of tools and components, collection of technical material sheets, drafting of specifications, and management of change controls. Support in administrative and technical documentation tasks related to design.

What are we looking for? Degree in Biomedical Engineering. Participation in at least one medical device development project. Knowledge of industrial design, UX design, or previous experience in an ISO 13485 environment is a plus. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. Fluent in English: B2–C1.
