Product Developer (English Speaker)

At GBfoods we offer culinary solutions in several countries of Europe and Africa with prestigious leading local brands, including Jumbo, Gallina Blanca, Erasco, Gino, Liebig, Star, Bama, D&L, Grand'Italia and Blå Band, among others. Our Purpose “Celebrating local flavours” is to empower and take care of each of the local communities we belong to and to bring out their authentic flavours. Some of our local brands have been in consumers' kitchens for over a century and have positioned themselves as authentically loved brands, as well as deeply rooted parts of the local culture. We are currently looking for a Product Developer to join our Technical team at our Factory in Ballobar (Huesca) to support R&D design and development projects including tooling and fixtures, and corporate objectives.

The Product Developer performs a variety of duties that requires creativity and innovation focusing on the upscaling of the products manufacturing. This role will also participate in the areas of material control and flow, which may include inspection.

Development of cost-effective recipe in view of market or business demand. Establishing an efficient network in the factory, in alignment with the correspondent factory partner. Perform chemistry analysis (pH, salt, Aw, moisture, fat, protein and Ash) on raw materials and finished product. Packaging management. Support industrial trials for new packaging materials homologation. Provide assistance with microbiological testing of environmental swabs, raw materials, and finished products. Contribute to product development and the establishment and implementation of processing activities, including safety, in the Technical Center Laboratory, Pilot Plant and Sensory Room.

1- 3 years of experience in R&D and laboratory applications environment, ingredient selection, standardization and formulation management and product development projects, preferably in the culinary sector. Knowledge and understanding of regulatory and QA/QC requirements. Knowledge of SAP, standard MS Office and project management software. Fluent in English and Spanish; French is a plus.
