Optical Engineer

We are partnered with a Barcelona-based space technology company building an affordable, high-resolution thermal imaging satellite constellation to improve environmental monitoring and global resource management.

They are looking for a

Senior Optical Engineer

to support the development of a multispectral optical system for thermal space applications. This role focuses on optical design, testing, and validation within an R&D environment.

The role also involves developing test setups, supporting AIT/AIV activities, and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Develop and implement test setups for AIT/AIV phases. Perform alignment, calibration, validation, and image quality testing. Work with internal and external stakeholders to enhance system performance and adopt new technologies.

MSc or PhD in Optics or a related field. Understanding of radiometric, thermal, and structural effects on optical performance. Hands-on experience with optical testing, alignment, and metrology. Image quality testing and data analysis experience (e.g., Python). Fluent English (written and spoken).

Experience using adhesives in optical assemblies.
