Job purpose
We are looking for a skilled accountant to join our startup team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for justifying European and Spanish R&D projects.
Duties and responsibilities
·
Enter invoices and other accounting records into the company’s ERP system.
·
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
·
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
·
Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
·
Prepare monthly bank remittances an reconciliations
·
Monthly review of employee timesheets
·
Monthly employee expenses sheet tracking
·
Weekly
control of the collection and payment portfolio
·
Ensure that the supporting documents for accounting entries are filed and identified
·
Prepare and submit financial reports for European and Spanish R&D projects.
·
Assist with justifying the expenses for the R&D projects.
·
Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
·
Assist with audits as needed.
·
Other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and experience
·
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
·
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
·
Knowledge of Spanish and European R&D funding processes and regulations.
·
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Required Skills
·
Experience working in a startup environment
·
Familiarity with Spanish tax laws and regulations
·
Advanced Excel skills
·
Experience with accounting software, ideally Odoo.
·
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
·
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
·
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
