Field Application Scientist

I am partnered with a high growth start-up who are developing a full-stack quantum computer. Their approach utilises trapped-ion technologies, pushing the current limits of classical physics. We are looking for a Senior Application Engineer who will work at the intersection of customers, markets, products, strategy and innovation. You will be apart of a team where ideas become applied to have impact.

What will you do: • You will be the face of inspiration to clients, explaining strategy, portfolio and answering technical questions about quantum portfolio, and quantum applications. • You will lead client discussions, inspiring them to see how quantum applications can be implemented in their business domain. This will include working through business needs, mapping quantum algorithms into application code and executing proof-of-concepts. • Share insights from clients with the product management and engineering teams, ensuring that client feedback is incorporated into products. • Navigate competitive objection handling • Lead client discovery sessions for business orientated use cases • Some travel is expected within this role (20%)

What we are looking for: • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical customer-facing roles and the ability to communicate at various technical levels. • Masters degree in something related to quantum computing or STEM related field • Hands on experience with Qiskit or other quantum computing SDK • Proficiency in Python • Experience leading technical events • Expertise with “full stack skills” across various technologies
