Descripción del Puesto
Marfeel is a fast-growing SaaS company transforming the way digital publishers understand and grow their audiences. Our real-time analytics and activation platform empowers newsrooms and content teams to make data-driven decisions that drive engagement, loyalty, and revenue.
Headquartered in Barcelona with a globally distributed team representing over 15 nationalities, we’re proud of our diverse and collaborative culture. Our people are the driving force behind our innovation—and we’re just getting started.
We’re hiring a Data Insights & Storytelling Specialist who turns data into compelling narratives that shape how the publishing industry understands digital audience behaviour. This is primarily a content and intelligence role: you will own the research, analysis, and production of Marfeel’s industry-facing reports, benchmarks, and studies—the kind of work that gets cited, shared, and talked about.
You’ll partner with leading publishers such as Business Insider, El País, McClatchy, and Webedia, drawing on the 100+ billion data rows we ingest every day to surface trends and insights that matter to the market. You’ll leverage AI tools to handle the heavy lifting on data processing and analysis, so you can focus on the thing that sets this role apart: translating numbers into stories that inform, persuade, and inspire action.
You will also support internal data investigations when needed, helping the team understand anomalies, validate metrics, and maintain trust in our data—but your primary stage is external.
Own Marfeel’s external content programme: Plan, research, write, and publish a calendar of industry reports, benchmarks, trend studies, and data-driven narratives that position Marfeel as a thought leader in digital publishing.
Mine our data for market stories: Identify the most compelling angles from our datasets—audience trends, engagement patterns, content performance—and develop these into structured, evidence-based narratives.
Produce publication-ready content: Understand what content would be most valuable externally and internally, and ensure outputs are actively used—in campaigns, pitches, client conversations, and PR.
Monitor the digital publishing landscape, identify emerging topics, and proactively propose new research angles that reinforce Marfeel’s market positioning.
Apply LLMs to speed up data summarisation, outlier triage, and first drafts—always validating outputs and applying your own editorial judgement before publication.
b) Internal investigations & data analysis (30%)
Support internal data investigations: Analyse client and platform data to identify anomalies, investigate discrepancies vs. third-party sources (GA4, GSC, social/video platforms), and produce clear reports with recommended fixes.
Interpret and explore data using AI tools, Excel/Google Sheets, and light scripting; ensure analyses are accurate, documented, and reproducible.
Raise well-scoped tickets for instrumentation changes, validate fixes, and contribute to improving data quality and product experience.
Contribute to data governance: Background: Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, with 4+ years’ experience in insights, research, content strategy, or data-facing roles (SaaS, media, consulting, or similar).
You produce clear, engaging, publication-ready content. You know how to frame data as a narrative, and you write with authority for professional audiences.
Business & commercial acumen: You understand what publishers care about and can frame findings to resonate with commercial stakeholders.
Hands-on data experience: Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets; SQL is a plus.
to accelerate research, analysis, and drafting—paired with strong editorial judgement and rigorous validation of outputs.
Project management: Organised, deadline-driven, and proactive—able to manage a content calendar, scope research projects, and keep stakeholders aligned.
Quality mindset: A portfolio of published data-driven reports, benchmarks, or industry studies.
