North Africa projects

(Algeria, etc.). This role focuses on

advanced petrophysical analysis, rock typing, saturation-height modeling (Sw), and reservoir characterization

to support field development and production optimization. The ideal candidate will have

extensive experience in North African basins

, a strong background in

integrating well log, core, and seismic data

, and the ability to collaborate with

reservoir modeling and engineering teams

to drive data-driven decisions.

How to Apply: Send your

CV and a brief cover letter

“Senior Petrophysicist – Madrid ”

. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. We encourage

diverse candidates

to apply.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Advanced Petrophysical Interpretation Perform

detailed petrophysical evaluations

using

open-hole and cased-hole logs, core data, and special core analysis (SCAL)

. Develop and refine

petrophysical models

for reservoir properties (porosity, permeability, saturation, lithology, and mineralogy). Conduct

uncertainty analysis and sensitivity studies

to assess petrophysical variability and risk. 2. Rock Typing & Facies Analysis Lead

rock typing studies

to classify reservoir intervals based on

lithology, pore geometry, and flow units

. Integrate

core descriptions, thin sections, and log data

to define

electrofacies and hydraulic flow units (HFUs)

. Collaborate with

geologists and reservoir engineers

to ensure consistency between petrophysical rock types and dynamic reservoir behavior. 3. Saturation-Height Modeling (Sw) Develop

saturation-height functions (capillary pressure models)

using

core data, well logs, and production data

. Calibrate

Sw models

with

production logs, well tests, and dynamic reservoir data

. Apply

advanced techniques

(e.g.,

J-function, Leverett-J

) to improve saturation modeling in complex reservoirs. 4. Reservoir Characterization Support Work closely with the

Reservoir Characterization and Modeling team

to integrate petrophysical data into

static and dynamic reservoir models

. Provide

petrophysical inputs

for

3D geological and simulation models

, ensuring consistency with well data and geological concepts. Support

upscaling workflows

to preserve petrophysical properties in reservoir models. 5. Well Log Quality Control & Data Integration Conduct

rigorous QC of well log data

(gamma ray, resistivity, density, neutron, NMR, etc.) and

core-petrophysical integration

. Validate and

harmonize petrophysical interpretations

across multiple wells and fields in North Africa. Ensure

data consistency

between petrophysics, geology, and reservoir engineering disciplines. 6. Specialized Petrophysical Studies Lead

advanced petrophysical studies

, including: NMR interpretation

for pore-size distribution and fluid typing. Dielectric and spectral gamma ray analysis

for complex lithologies. Fracture and stress analysis

using image logs (FMI, UBI). Evaluate

low-resistivity pay, tight gas, and unconventional reservoirs

where applicable. 7. Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams Work with

geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers

to ensure petrophysical interpretations align with

geological models and dynamic reservoir behavior

. Provide

petrophysical support

for

well planning, completion design, and field development strategies

. Participate in

integrated reservoir studies

and

field reviews

for North Africa projects. 8. Mentorship & Technical Leadership Mentor

junior petrophysicists

and provide

technical guidance

to cross-functional teams. Stay updated on

emerging petrophysical technologies and best practices

, and implement them in workflows. Present
