The role of a Privacy Counsel at Euronet involves providing legal and strategic guidance on data protection and privacy compliance across the organization. Here's a summary of their core responsibilities:
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide data protection and privacy program subject matter expertise to key stakeholders within Euronet. The successful candidate will work closely with the various lines of business in the EU to help deliver practical plans and advice that will limit privacy risk and help to fulfil business objectives.
Draft and review Data Privacy & Data Transfer Agreements, in coordination with local internal counsel. Provide privacy support in negotiations with third parties.
Support EU Privacy Consultants regarding local regulatory requirements.
Develop and review site Data Privacy and Cookie Notices.
Research and document complex processing operations, ensuring appropriate lawful basis of processing and data transfer documentation.
Monitor changes in the evolving local regulatory regimes and share them with the Privacy Office team and local business leaders.
Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the principles of Privacy by Design.
Conduct, support and evaluate Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) activities, especially in the areas of developing new products/services; updating existing products/services, selecting third-party service providers and implementing new internal processes.
Provide support regarding the resolution of complex Data Subject Rights requests.
Support the efficient operation and continuous improvement of the corporate breach reporting, data retention, data subject rights reporting, record of processing and PIA processes.
Assist in the communication of the corporate privacy program to the business. Candidates are expected to demonstrate effective presentation and influencing skills.
Manage a diverse workload and multiple projects at the same time. Candidates will also demonstrate the ability to keep track of multiple and varying regulatory obligations.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualified lawyer, with a minimum of 2 years of practical data privacy experience โ especially in the creation of Data Privacy Agreements and Privacy Impact Assessments.
Formal privacy training and certification e.g., an IAPP-issued certification.
Committed to a personal program of continuous privacy and professional education.
Experience with and/or knowledge of various information security standards, tools and systems.
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills supported by well-developed analytical skills.
Fluent in English; other languages are desirable.
Highly organized and independent; capable of managing a wide range of diverse projects with minimal supervision.
