Basque Linguist (BAE) – Phonetic Transcription Support

We are seeking a native Basque (Spain) linguist to support a short-term linguistic project focused on pronunciation and phonetic transcription. The selected contractor will assist with validating and transcribing Basque words and tokens to support the development of speech technology.

Project Details • Language: Basque (Spain) • Workload: ~24 hours total • Timeline: February 16 – March 20 • Type: Short-term freelance contract • Rate: 30€ per hour

Responsibilities • Provide accurate pronunciation guidance for Basque words and tokens • Perform phonetic transcription following the provided guidelines • Ensure linguistic accuracy and consistency

Requirements • Fluent in Basque (Spain) • Background in linguistics, phonetics, or related field preferred • Attention to detail and ability to follow annotation guidelines • Reliable communication and availability within the timeline
