Mid-Senior Backend Engineer

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Mid-Senior Backend Engineer. The Backend Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust back-end solutions to support PandaGo’s platform,

and ideally be comfortable jumping into the React interfaces our users interact with daily when needed.

They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software performance and scalability, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and contribute to designing APIs and system architecture.

This is ideal for someone who executes well, writes clean code, and wants to grow into higher-seniority roles in a fast-moving, high-autonomy environment.

What you'll do Build backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI is a plus). Implement features end-to-end from technical designs or specs. Contribute to discussions around API design, data modeling, and service architecture. Integrate with authentication systems. Work with SQL and analytical data storage. Collaborate closely with product and engineering peers. Contribute to React-based frontend interfaces when needed.

What we're looking for Technical capabilities Solid Python backend engineering experience (4–6+ years overall). Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, and database fundamentals. Familiarity with distributed systems or microservices is a plus. Exposure to cloud data tools (BigQuery, SQL warehouses) is a plus. Experience with React is a strong plus; we value engineers who can own a feature from the API layer through to the browser. Execution & autonomy Reliable in delivering well-scoped tasks independently. Strong focus on code quality and maintainability. Comfortable switching context without losing momentum. Growth mindset Eager to learn from peers and open to feedback. Capable of taking increasing ownership over time, including contributing to architectural decisions.
