Finance Officer - Banking

Lead and strengthen the accounting function in a growing international digital company

At Your New Self (YNS), we are looking for a Financial Controller with a strong technical accounting background to take ownership of the accounting and reporting function. You will work closely with the General Manager, acting as the financial reference within the company and supporting business decision-making in a fast-paced, international environment.

Your New Self (YNS) is a B2B2C marketplace in the eHealth industry. Founded 15 years ago, YNS is a profitable company currently undergoing a transformation phase, working on a new strategy to triple sales in the next 10 years.

YNS operates in 11 markets in Europe and LATAM and has its headquarters in Barcelona. In 2021, the American Company RealSelf acquired YNS within their geographical expansion plan. RealSelf has its headquarters in NY and operates in the US, Canada, Australia and UK with the same business model as YNS.

As a group, we are the leading marketplace in the plastic surgery and aesthetics industry. Our customers are the clinics and doctors, and our consumers are their potential patients.

We are transforming the Company, going from an SEO-oriented marketplace to a social media and user-centric one. We are currently working on passionate projects across Product & Tech, MKT, Sales & Operations to grow sales x3 in ten years in a scalable and profitable way.

As Financial Controller, you will oversee and take responsibility for the company’s accounting and reporting function, ensuring full compliance with accounting and tax obligations in Spain and across subsidiaries. You are expected to have a strong technical accounting background and be able to review, validate, and guide accounting decisions with rigor and confidence.

You will lead the monthly closing process, oversee cash management, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for management in Spain and the US.

In addition, you will act as the main financial reference for the General Manager, translating financial data into clear insights and providing sound financial judgement to support decision-making.

This role is ideal for a strong accounting professional who wants to go beyond bookkeeping, combining technical depth with business understanding in a growing international digital company.

As the finance function continues to consolidate and mature, this role is expected to progressively evolve into a broader Head of Finance position over time, for the right candidate.

&##Accounting: Oversee and control the accounting: accounting entries, amortizations, provisions, capitalizations, fixed assets, revenue accruals. Oversee and approve the accounting of subsidiaries and the accounting of intercompany invoices (done by local external accountants)

Taxes

: Oversee the tax obligations of the Company in Spain. Oversee the tax presentation in the subsidiaries. Lead the potential tax breaks. Identify and manage potential tax optimization opportunities.

Lead the annual books presentation (Cuentas anuales al registro). Lead the annual audit. Execute the monthly sales report in excel for management and shareholders. Monitor and report financial performance against budget.

Cash management

: Own the cash management control. Own the currency exchange control.

Manage banking relationships. 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting and/or financial controlling roles. ~ Strong technical accounting knowledge with solid exposure to the full accounting cycle. ~3+ years of experience with financial reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow). ~3+ years of experience in Spanish tax and accounting standards. ~ Advanced Excel skills are a must; Professional fluency in both English and Spanish is required. ~ Remote position.

Summer schedule:

Intensive working hours on special dates (Noche de reyes, Sant Jordi, Verbena de San Juan, Christmas Eve, etc)
