Overview
Job Description: This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards.
Responsibilities
Cleans patient rooms or dismissal units; duties include but are not limited to disinfecting all surfaces, emptying trash, cleaning of sinks, counter areas, shower and toilet, dusting, mopping and vacuuming, restocking paper products and shampooing the carpet.
Disinfects all public areas; duties include sinks, toilets, washing walls, damp mop, replacing paper products, stairwells, damp disinfecting all areas, handrails disinfection, replacement of blinds, and shampooing carpets; buffing or waxing floors where needed.
Follows proper procedures for separating regular waste versus biohazardous waste, disposal of needles, and storage of clean and dirty linens.
Cleans Ancillary areas; duties include using a backpack vacuum, cleaning restrooms, trash disposal, damp disinfecting.
Disposes of Sharps container per policy (at certain care sites).
Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Healthcare, and abides by service behavior standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Biohazardous Waste certification obtained within 6 months of hire (required at certain care sites).
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Schedule and Compensation
Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm or 3:00pm-12:00am; Schedule: Day Shift or Evenings
Hours per week: 40
Hourly range: $17.25 - $22.43 (dependant on experience)
