Registered Nurse - 3rd Shift - Murdoch Developmental Center
North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Registered Nurse for Murdoch Developmental Center. This role provides professional nursing care, including evaluation, assessment, and coordination and implementation of care delivery. The nurse may act as charge nurse when assigned and provides clinical services and consultation including medication and treatment administration, MD/professional contacts, and care planning for health needs.
Responsibilities
Provide professional nursing care and coordinate delivery of patient care.
Evaluate and assess patient health needs; coordinate and implement care plans.
Serve as charge nurse when assigned and provide clinical services and consultation.
Administer medications and treatments; liaise with MDs and other professionals; participate in care planning.
Meet essential duties during adverse weather and emergency events as an ESSENTIAL employee.
Qualifications
Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or a participating Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
Ability to pass Healthcare Provider CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) requirements; valid Driver’s License.
Minimum education and experience as listed on the vacancy announcement; state education/experience requirements apply.
Compensation and Benefits
Recruitment range: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year.
Sign-on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to successful applicants, contingent on budget approval.
Flexible work schedule options for 3rd shift with multiple shift patterns available.
Shift and Schedule
3rd Shift options including 10:45pm-6:45am, 5 days/week with rotating weekends, and other 3rd shift configurations; schedules may be adjusted as needed.
Various 3rd shift configurations with rotating weekends and staggered start times.

One of three regional developmental centers serving 25 counties in central NC; ~1600 employees; supports adults with IDD and complex medical/behavioral needs; located near Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill.
