Are you a motivated Diagnostic Technologist ready to take the next step in your career? UPMC Kane is seeking a dedicated part-time Diagnostic Technologist to join our dynamic team on
2nd and 3rd shifts . This role offers a unique opportunity to expand your skills with CT cross-training, hands-on experience with multiple imaging modalities such as CT, DEXA, and C-arm, and close collaboration with nursing and OR teams.
Shift requirements include:
Working Monday through Friday on either 8-hour second shifts or 12-hour third shifts
Every third weekend is required (3rd shift, 7pm to 7:30am)
One rotating holiday per year
Some flexibility may be available depending on department needs

Qualifying evening and weekend hours have a $4/hr shift differential on top of base pay.
Qualified candidates may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $7,500.
Responsibilities:
Identify all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilize universal protocol when performing procedures.
Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data and document patient history in electronic record as required.
Administer PO and rectal contrast per physician orders/department policy
Ensure all exams within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.
Perform diagnostic radiography procedures utilizing established protocols/procedures without requiring constant supervision.
Utilize complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, manipulation, and documentation of image data and complete procedures according to protocol.
Demonstrate a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity and respect.
Able to work as team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.
Perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement to adjust protocols and show initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic radiography purposes.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner and explain procedures to help allay the patients' fears and solicit their cooperation.
Required:
Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.
Technologist cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT has been obtained.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist.
Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date as of January 1, 2025.
Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, will need to obtain their registry within 12 months of hire/transfer date.
CPR or BLS Required.
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
Technologist cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT has been obtained.
If working in a NY facility, you must have received certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) and be Licensed through the New York State Department of Health.
