LIGENTEC is a young and dynamic European company located in Lausanne, Switzerland and Paris, France. We manufacture silicon nitride based Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) for customers in high-tech areas such as Quantum Technologies, LiDAR, Space Technologies and Biosensors. Our All-Nitride technology enables customers to develop their products in the industrial revolution 4.0.
To support our continued growth, we are looking for an
Systems and Network Technician .

Responsibilities
Network Management : Maintain and improve LAN, VLAN, WAN, iSCSI, and VPN configurations; Manage and monitor WiFi networks (UniFi), Cisco-managed switches, and routers; Propose and implement site-to-site and client-user VPN solutions; Provide level 1–2 network support and perform routine monitoring.
System Administration : Maintain and manage hypervisors: Proxmox PVE and Backup Server; Administer VMs (RHEL 9.4/9.5, Rocky 9.5, Debian 12, Windows Server 2025); Manage systems such as SAN storage, OPNSense, UniFi, VMWare Player; Prepare and assign workstations (primarily Apple macOS) for new hires; Support user onboarding/offboarding (tools, credentials, backups); Maintain system orchestration and perform regular updates.
Tools & Software Ecosystem : Support and administer solutions such as Google Workspace, Odoo, Asana, GitLab; Explore and potentially deploy MDM solutions; Work with various software/protocols: Bash, Docker, qemu, Ansible, Slurm, PostgreSQL, SELinux, Duplicity, GPG, SSH, LDAP, Zabbix, GLPI, Traefik, PGAdmin4; Understand basics of HPC computing and SAN storage systems.
User Support & Documentation : Monitor support portal and address user requests in a structured and timely manner; Maintain user documentation and IT administration guides; Contribute to the continuous update of the IT project tracking solution; Research, evaluate, and propose new hardware/software solutions; Assist with deployment and maintenance of IT equipment.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in Linux system administration and network management
Familiarity with modern IT environments (virtualization, cloud-like services, MDM)
Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and system hardening
Professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required
French is a plus but not mandatory
Soft Skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously
Flexibility and willingness to learn in a fast-moving environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
High standards of discretion and confidentiality
Education
Bachelor's / Professional Bachelor's / Master's degree in IT, Network Engineering, or related field
