Job Description

Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading marketing and communications agencies, is seeking a Creative Director, Art in Toronto. The candidate should have a background in art direction and graphic design, be highly conceptual and strategic, and deliver earned-first creative ideas agnostic of platform. The role involves leading design initiatives, shaping a growing team of art directors and designers, and executing across social, digital, out-of-home and print to tell great stories. You will work with the North American Weber Shandwick network to solve client challenges and develop in your creative career. You must be comfortable presenting to clients and will work a minimum of four days in the Toronto office on King Street East at Parliament Street. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ideate and execute earned and social first creative activations. Creatively interpret the client’s strategy vision. Liaise with client teams to ensure alignment with objectives. Establish and set quality standards for art directors and graphic designers you manage. Develop refined, production-heavy concepts with a focus on social and digital media; apply social best practices across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, YouTube, and more. Ensure all visual design adheres to brand guidelines. Create iterative digital executions and oversee others in this task. Wear multiple hats as needed, driving the creative/design process in roles such as producer, retoucher, illustrator, or photographer. From concept to execution, solve design and marketing challenges throughout a project lifecycle. Understand digital and interactive design principles; speak to UX/UI needs when necessary. Present work confidently in client meetings and participate in planning sessions. Build rapport with creative teams, client leads and project managers; foster an inclusive culture. Have a proficient grasp of generative AI as it concerns art direction, renders, and mocks. BASIC REQUIREMENTS

10+ years’ agency experience as a Creative Director. Background in art direction and graphic design. Experience delivering big ideas, brand activations, and social content; PR campaigns (earned, owned, paid) experience a plus. Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite and presentation software; ability to work quickly and accurately under timelines. Curious, self-motivated, organized, resilient to changing timelines and deliverables. Culture-obsessed and a heavy consumer of media. Experience with social platforms and best practices; ongoing learning mindset. Portfolio demonstrating your thinking and approach to assignments. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Graphic design education preferred. Bonus skills: illustration, photography, retouching, filmmaking; artistic passions welcome. Experience managing junior creatives is a plus. Build strong media and influencer relationships to drive coverage and conversations. Lead logistics for media and influencer events; mentor junior staff; manage KPIs and program budgets. Provide client counsel and contribute to planning, staffing, and reporting. Senior Associate – Earned Media (Toronto) Develop and execute innovative PR campaigns; build relationships with media and influencers. Support social and influencer strategies; manage content development and campaign monitoring. Monitor media trends and provide insights to inform planning cycles; participate in client meetings and internal initiatives. Salary ranges for the secondary roles vary by level and experience (for example, Senior Manager: CAD 79,000 – 95,000; Senior Associate: CAD 55,000 – 63,000).
