Overview Sr Director, Analyst - Executive Buying Behavior (REMOTE: Canada)

Gartner’s High-Tech Research Group advises technology companies on the strategic business issues that help them succeed in their market. In this group, the Technology Buying Dynamics team shares insights on evolving buying dynamics and the implications for product, marketing, and sales strategies. Analysts ensure that executive clients receive the best strategic advice, support, and direction for decision-making, producing innovative research content, timely delivery, collaboration across teams, and high-impact client interactions.

What you will do

Apply buying insights to shape persona development, storytelling, product strategy, sales engagement approaches, and content strategies.

Collaborate with organizations across North America, EMEA and globally, from startups to the largest tech companies, to address their unique challenges.

Work with executives and their teams responsible for product, marketing, and sales strategies.

Create innovative, thought-provoking, and highly leveraged “must-have research” content.

Create materials for delivering face-to-face and video-based client discussions.

Ensure integrity of Gartner research and maintain Gartner independence.

Support research efforts across Gartner: provide high-quality, timely peer review; collaborate to develop strong positions; explore new data sources and primary research opportunities.

What you will need

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience

12+ years of relevant experience engaging with executive decision makers on technology purchases

Experience working with traditional (e.g., CIO, CISO) and non-traditional (e.g., CMO, CSO, CPO) decision-making roles

Product Marketing, Product/Offering Management, or Sales Engineering experience desired

Demonstrated critical thinking and creativity

Executive presence and ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders

Strong writing and presentation skills

Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, global, multicultural team

Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines with high-quality deliverables

Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data, applying patterns and frameworks to draw conclusions

Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts concisely

Ability to present at large and small-scale speaking engagements
