Overview

Research Leads - The Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship (ARCCS) at UNSW Sydney. Four senior academic positions (Level D/E) within the ARCCS. Led by Professor Bogda Koczwara AM; the Centre was established through a $40 million, 10-year partnership between UNSW Sydney and Cancer Council NSW. Role and Location

Location: Kensington, New South Wales. Employment Type: Full Time. Positions Available: 4 X Research Leads. Duration: Up to 30 June 2029. Remuneration: Academic Level D or Level E (AUD $185k – $237k) based on experience + 17% Super + Annual Leave Loading. Responsibilities

Report to Professor Koczwara and shape the Centre’s research strategy across four major themes: Person-Centred Care in Cancer Survivorship – advancing holistic, equitable and empowering models of care for survivors. Behaviour and Health – exploring behavioural, psychological and social factors affecting survivor wellbeing. Survivorship Epidemiology – investigating long-term health outcomes, quality of life, and disparities through large-scale, data-driven research. Precision Survivorship – developing tailored survivorship care informed by molecular, genetic, behavioural and environmental factors. Lead and mentor research teams; build national and international partnerships; secure competitive funding; and mentor the next generation of researchers. Qualifications and Skills

A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience. Extensive leadership experience in the relevant professional field. Strong record of keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments. Proven ability to lead research projects and research teams; substantial experience supervising honours and postgraduate research. Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work across disciplines, faculties, institutions, industry and professional bodies. Ability to mentor and act as an inspirational role model for other academics; commitment to equal opportunity, equity, diversity and inclusion. Experience in developing relationships with industry and the community; track record in attracting industry funding.
