Senior Vice President Head of Casualty Underwriting – Linx Underwriting Solutions
Aon is seeking a Senior Vice President, Head of Casualty Underwriting – Linx Underwriting, based in Toronto. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for driving underwriting excellence, shaping portfolio strategy, and leading a high-performing team within the Linx Underwriting division.

What the day will look like
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the underwriting approach for casualty, ensuring it aligns with corporate objectives and market dynamics.
Portfolio Management: Oversee the performance of casualty portfolios, including general liability, professional liability, environmental liability, and other specialty lines.
Underwriting Excellence: Establish and maintain underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and risk appetite frameworks to ensure consistent and profitable underwriting.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing casualty underwriting team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Market Engagement: Represent the company in broker and client engagements, industry forums, and regulatory discussions. Build and maintain strong market relationships.
Innovation & Emerging Risks: Monitor and respond to emerging risks such as cyber liability, climate-related exposures, and social inflation. Drive innovation in product development and risk solutions.
Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.

The Head of Casualty is responsible for owning the casualty underwriting strategy, portfolio management, and team development across all casualty lines. This role ensures profitable growth, risk selection rigor, and alignment with the company’s broader strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader in casualty risk, regulatory trends, and emerging exposures, driving innovation and excellence in underwriting practices.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in casualty underwriting, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
Extensive expertise in casualty lines, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and regulatory frameworks.
Demonstrated success in managing underwriting portfolios and driving profitable growth.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Strategic approach with strong analytical skills and commercial insight.
A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree or professional designation (e.g., CIP, FCIP, CPCU) is preferred.
