What’s this role all about?
Join our Engineering team as they build the next generation of knowledge management products, powered by large language models. In this role, you will play a leadership role in designing and developing AI software solutions and features, focusing on researching, evaluating, training, and tuning models to meet our product needs. We are looking for a creative and resourceful problem solver eager to leverage your ML expertise to guide and execute language-based AI systems.
Our current technology stack includes JavaScript, React, Python, FastAPI, Docker, AWS, and MySQL. We adapt our technology choices based on emerging tools, evolving requirements, or more efficient solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering AI/ML models from planning through data sourcing, training, and deployment in our cloud environment, preferably using open-source models.
Creating AI prototypes to evaluate models and design options, collaborating with stakeholders to analyze results.
Training and tuning models to optimize algorithm performance.
Integrating models into production, working with engineering teams to embed models into our product architecture.
Understanding product needs and scoping AI solutions in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Staying updated on AI models and technological trends through ongoing research.
This is a remote role based in one of the following Canadian provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Newfoundland, PEI, New Brunswick, or Nova Scotia.
What do you need to be successful?
We value the following skills and attributes, and encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all criteria:
5+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years with ML and AI technologies.
Deep knowledge of data modeling and current ML/AI tech, especially with LLMs for language solutions.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to consider diverse solutions and make decisions with ambiguous data.
Creative, resourceful problem solver excited about developing new solutions with evolving technologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex ideas.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Thrives in a fast-paced, high-performance startup environment.
