Store Manager

Overview Store Manager (SM) at SNDL Inc. The Store Manager will bring experience in the cannabis or retail industry (or similar fields) and previous management experience to lead store operations, drive budgets and sales goals, and establish a strong sales culture with accountability for operational standards and financial performance. The role includes recruiting, hiring, and training teams, ensuring the store is clean, stocked, and ready for business, and analyzing store sales and performance weekly to maintain or improve metrics while staying compliant with provincial cannabis regulations.

Role and Responsibilities The Store Manager role includes, but is not limited to:

People Management:

Recruit, hire, onboard, and train enthusiastic team members; coach and mentor staff; foster a culture of teamwork, retention, and professional growth; establish accountability for operational standards and financial performance; conduct annual performance appraisals and ongoing feedback.

Customer Offering:

Greet customers, engage in conversations, build relationships, educate customers on cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods, and promote safe and responsible usage.

Day-to-Day Operations:

Maximize sales by analyzing store metrics and trends, promote Nova Cannabis culture through merchandising, maintain product knowledge, ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked; monitor inventory and manage ordering/receiving; complete POS transactions following cash handling and loss prevention procedures; ensure compliance with merchandising, pricing, and promotional guidelines; manage store communications.

Experience and Qualifications

Minimum: 3–5 years of customer service experience.

Minimum: 3–5 years of retail and/or hospitality experience.

Cannabis, liquor, or healthcare experience is preferred.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Mandatory Certifications by Province:

BC: Selling It Right Certification.

AB: SellSafe Certification.

SK: CRTP Certification.

MB: CRWTP Certification.

ON: CannSell Certification.

Must complete and pass a Criminal Record Check.

Working knowledge of federal and provincial cannabis regulations and safe handling procedures.

Age Requirement: 18+ (AB); 19+ in BC, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario.

Reliable transportation to and from work.
