Overview Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)/Clerk β€” Township of North Glengarry, Ontario

Description Purpose of the Position: Reporting to the Mayor and Council, the CAO/Clerk will be a proven leader with the ability to embrace change and guide the municipality, as directed by Council. The CAO/Clerk oversees and coordinates day-to-day administration through the senior management team, supporting the Mayor and Council in directing and developing public policy and providing timely, comprehensive information to inform decisions. The Township is seeking a CAO/Clerk who will collaborate with Council to build on this foundation and plan a successful, sustainable future.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate day-to-day municipal administration through the senior management team.

Support Mayor and Council in directing and developing public policy; provide timely, comprehensive information for informed decisions.

Foster collaborative relationships with Council, staff, boards, committees, and stakeholders; ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

Requirements

University Degree in Commerce, Public Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of ten (10) years of municipal experience.

At least five (5) years in a senior management role.

Proven ability to build relationships with staff, elected officials, boards, committees, and stakeholders with competing interests.

Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

High level of political and business acumen.

Bilingualism is considered an asset.

Salary & Benefits $148,928 - 175,160
