Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urologist to join our medical team in Lagos, Nigeria. The ideal candidate should be board-certified and possess advanced surgical skills in Urology, with specific expertise in procedures such as TURP, HoLEP, PCNL, Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy, RIRS, Kidney Transplant, and Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy. This role involves full-time employment with on-call responsibilities for emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of urological surgeries, including TURP, HoLEP, PCNL, Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy, RIRS, Kidney Transplant, and Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy.
Ensure high-quality patient care and outcomes in all urological procedures.
Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
Participate in on-call duties for emergency cases, ensuring prompt and effective response to urological emergencies.
Provide mentorship and training to junior medical staff and residents, contributing to the development of a strong urology team.
Stay current with advancements in urological procedures and technologies to continuously improve surgical skills and patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Board Certification: Equivalent to FRCS, FWACS with a minimum of 5 years post-MBBS training in surgery/Urology.
Specialization: Must be qualified for registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria as a specialist urologist with extra qualifications.
Surgical Expertise: Proficient in TURP, HoLEP, PCNL, Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy, RIRS, Kidney Transplant, and Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy. Candidates should either be able to perform these procedures or be trainable in these areas.
Experience
The number of procedures performed is more important than the number of years of experience. The ideal candidate should have demonstrable skills in laparoscopic surgeries.
Technology Proficiency
Familiarity with equipment from companies such as Storz and Olympus is preferred but not essential.
Language Skills
Fluency in English is required.
Preferred Background
Open to candidates from various regions, with a preference for those from India, Egypt, Cuba, Lebanon, and Turkey.
Work Schedule
Routine work hours are from 6 to 8 hours, Monday to Saturday.
On-call responsibilities for emergencies, which currently occur 2 to 3 times per month.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive salary ranging from $5,000 to $20,000 per month, depending on the candidates qualifications and abilities.
