Spine Neurosurgeon
role at
Shared Health-Soins Communs .
Location: Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB, with appointment potential at the University of Manitoba and Max Rady College of Medicine. Start date: September 1, 2025 (or date mutually agreed). The role combines clinical duties and academic responsibilities in a full-time setting.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat spinal neurosurgical diseases and conditions.
Prescribe medications and coordinate treatment plans.
Order laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures; consult with other physicians as required.
Provide inpatient and ambulatory patient care; contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research, and tertiary care medicine.
Collaborate within a neurosurgery program that includes emergent and elective cases; support the Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg’s neurosurgical services for a population base of ~1.5 million.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine degree with specialization in Neurosurgery.
Certification in Neurosurgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred.
Fellowship training or equivalent experience in spinal neurosurgery is required.
Clinical research is expected; development of a dedicated research program is a possibility for candidates with strong research interest.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is a mix of fee-for-service income and funding as per the Doctor’s Manitoba agreement.
Specialty physicians may be eligible for a recruitment incentive.
