Salary:

up to $230k + bonus

We're hiring an established Principal Protection Engineer to take the lead in the protection & secondary engineering function and serve as the key representative for all protection & secondary-related projects, collaborating with the team, community, long-standing clients, and new partners.

Key Responsibilities for the Principal Protection Engineer

Conduct system fault analysis to ensure network resilience and stability. Develop protection grading strategies to optimize system performance. Oversee functional design and design integration for complex transmission projects. Provide expertise in transmission network systems, ensuring compliance with industry best practices. Manage stakeholder relationships, working closely with internal teams and external partners. Ensure alignment with TransGrid protection & automation specifications, leading application and implementation efforts.

What We’re Looking For

Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. Extensive experience in protection engineering, secondary design, and automation. Proven expertise in transmission network projects, ideally within an EPC environment. Strong knowledge of Transgrid protection & automation requirements. Excellent stakeholder management skills to engage with internal and external teams effectively.
