We have established relationships and are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in Lethbridge.

ISL’s Lethbridge Municipal Team
is part of the larger
Municipal and Community Sector
in Southern Alberta which is made up of 80 individuals who have close working relationships centered around water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. When you join the Lethbridge Team you are welcomed by a team that works in person. You can anticipate close collaboration and problem solving as a team.
We have expertise in water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations and reservoirs, linear infrastructure for collection and distribution and of course water system planning.

About the Role

Responsibilities:
Technical project engineer delivering multiple water/wastewater/grading and stormwater projects.
Assist in mentoring junior staff, providing technical reviews and guidance.
Review water and wastewater design drawings.
Constructability reviews.
QA/QC reviews of junior staff deliverables.
Lead cost estimation and validate project assumptions.
Write and review reports and documentation for accuracy and compliance with standards and regulations.
Review surface drainage and roadway grading designs.
Coordinate utility reviews and prepare crossing agreements.
Project Delivery
Support proposal development with strategic and technical input.
Ensure quality control procedures are followed across drawings and reports.
Oversee procurement documents, including specifications and tender coordination.
Provide senior-level contract administration, including review of contractor submittals, progress claims, and interpreting contract documents.
Examples of the projects you may work on:
Utility and grading/stormwater management designs for Alberta Forestry and Parks and local municipalities.
Utility rehabilitation and renewal.
Regional water and wastewater systems.
Multidisciplinary projects such as stormwater management, major pipeline upgrades, and roadway projects.
Utility rehabilitation and renewal, urban and rural.

Your resume should show us:
P.Eng./P.L. (Eng.) (Professional Engineer) or P.Tech. designation.
Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience in municipal/linear infrastructure (water distribution systems, sewer design, and general municipal engineering).
Design experience in water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
Project management experience, including design coordination and contract administration.
Examples of when you have managed projects, mentored junior staff and have contributed to technical leadership.
Familiarity with construction contracts, drawings and contract documents, submittals and progress claims.
Experience engaging with clients and stakeholders.
Experience contributing to business development and proposal writing.
Previous water/sewer projects experience in the Lethbridge region.
Experience with PCSWMM, InfoWorks ICM and other hydraulic modeling software.
Construction field experience.
