Position Title: Lead Counsellor, Camp Ridley

Camp Ridley offers exceptional summer day and boarding camps for children and youth ages 4 to 17, welcoming both Canadian and international campers. Our programmes span art, science, athletics, leadership, and experiential learning, creating a summer filled with discovery, friendship, and fun—both inside and outside the classroom.

Our programmes intentionally support campers’ physical, creative, social, and interpersonal development in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
All camps are hosted on Ridley College’s beautiful 90-acre campus in the heart of the Niagara Region, featuring world-class facilities and a vibrant campus community. Our boarding camps offer a unique opportunity for campers to experience boarding life in a safe, supportive, and welcoming setting.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and deliver engaging educational and recreational programming aligned with weekly camp themes.
Lead, coach, and support Junior Counsellors to foster a positive, collaborative, and effective team environment.
Create a safe, inclusive, and enthusiastic camp environment for campers and staff.
Model positive behaviour, sportsmanship, and professionalism at all times.
Enforce camp policies, procedures, and safety guidelines consistently.
Supervise camper behaviour and maintain appropriate discipline during activities.
Track attendance and complete incident and accident reports, escalating concerns to camp leadership as required.
Communicate with parents regarding camper experiences when appropriate and support overall program operations.
Mandatory participation in Ridley Standard First Aid and CPR/AED training if not already certified.
Mandatory attendance at staff training sessions from June 20–21, 2026.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with children in an educational or camp setting.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and sound judgment.
Physical ability to lead and actively participate in camp activities.
Reliable, vigilant, and punctual.
