Project and Quality Improvement Lead
ÉSO SEMEL OHT is a network of over fifty health and social service providers across Sudbury Espanola Manitoulin and Elliot Lake working together to organize and deliver services.
This role provides project leadership in improvement initiatives across our OHT and its hubs. It will also develop data analytics and reporting dashboards. Among the areas of support are the establishment of care pathways, the implementation of digital enablers, and continuous improvement to enhance patient access and experience.
It is a virtual role, with travel as needed to the communities within our OHT.
Responsibilities
Identifying trends and gaps in services that are being offered within ÉSO SEMEL OHT
Analyzing various data to support decision making, health system and care planning and quality improvements
Organizing, leading or supporting and documenting process improvement projects and initiatives with diverse groups of various sizes and compositions
Organizing and facilitating various community engagement sessions, including Indigenous, Francophone, urban and rural patients, care providers and health system leaders
Developing indicators and highly visual tools to track and report improvement initiative outcomes
Collecting, analyzing, summarizing and presenting data from surveys, projects and quality improvement initiatives
Participating in educational programs, committees, and planning groups as assigned, and offering suggestions for improvement of systems and services
Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that data and benchmarking information is accessible, accurate, reliable, and relevant
Lead and implement quality improvement initiatives and digital health initiatives
Qualifications
Graduate of a post-secondary institution in a related field (e.g., health, business, data analytics)
Certification and demonstrated experience in process improvement and/or project management methodologies
Knowledge of population health datasets (e.g., Statistics Canada projections, CIHI’s population grouping methodology, NACRS, DAD, OCAN) an asset
Demonstrated experience working with cross‑functional teams that include internal and external partners and stakeholders
Demonstrated analytical, problem‑solving abilities and data analysis and translation skills
Demonstrated flexible, highly‑adaptable, innovative and out‑of‑the‑box thinking and ability to navigate ambiguity
Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365 software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Google Drive
Demonstrated capability to prepare highly visual, informative and timely reports and infographics in Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, Tableau and other media
Demonstrate a strong understanding of provincial digital health assets and electronic medical records (e.g., Meditech, Telus PS Suite, Accuro, Ocean, E‑Referral, etc) is an asset
Demonstrated ability to implement digital enablers (e.g., online appointment booking, AI scribe) an asset
Demonstrated capability to collect, interpret, and disseminate high‑quality data
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Superior time‑management skills and ability to organize multiple tracks of work
Good understanding of Ontario’s healthcare system and healthcare administration (asset)
Knowledge of Ontario’s OHT model and local OHT structure/plan (asset)
Minimum of three years previous experience in a similar position preferred
Experience in the healthcare or social services field is an asset
Indigenous Cultural Safety course completion an asset
Bilingualism in French or Indigenous language is an asset
A clear criminal reference check is a condition of employment
Access to a reliable vehicle, a valid driver’s licence, and coverage with appropriate insurance are required
Access to a confidential space in which to work is required
Hours of work: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexible). Time of day may vary depending on organizational need. Occasional weekend work may be required (rare).
Compensation: As a part‑time role, this position is eligible for 6% in lieu of vacation, 14% in lieu of benefits, as well as enrollment in a retirement plan.
Starting salary: $43.040 to $48.442 per hour (depending on experience).
