The Role We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Analyst, Data Operations with deep operational expertise, strong process discipline, and hands‑on proficiency across all facets of data management and data operations. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of executing and upholding robust operational processes, driving best‑practice adoption, and building operational capabilities from the ground up with a mindset of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Reporting directly to the Data Operations Lead, the Senior Analyst will work closely with both business and technology partners to support the design, development, and implementation of data operations initiatives and projects. A core focus of the role is contributing to the creation and execution of daily, repeatable, and reliable operational processes, including reporting workflows, end‑to‑end monitoring routines, and data quality management controls. Success in this position requires strong operational acumen, meticulous attention to detail, consistency in process execution, and effective collaboration with the broader Data & Technology team and Business stakeholders.

This role is based in downtown Toronto under a hybrid work policy, allowing employees the flexibility to work remotely and in‑office (approximately two days per week in‑office). This posting is for an existing vacancy.

Key Accountabilities

Serve as a core member of the Data Operations matrix team, partnering with business process owners and technology teams to execute data operations use cases across UPP.

Execute daily data operations activities, including managing internal and external data sources, performing reconciliations, identifying and resolving data exceptions, and ensuring timely and accurate data flows.

Uphold operational excellence by ensuring data operations processes run smoothly, reliably, and in alignment with internal and business SLAs.

Maintain organized, auditable documentation and provide clear, effective communication to internal clients and stakeholders.

Support audit and control requirements by contributing to the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of monitoring routines, control checks, and standardised operational procedures.

Administer reference and index data vendor relationships, including contract execution, licensing coordination, and invoice management.

Contribute to the enhancement of UPP’s data operations framework and operating model, with a focus on data governance, data lifecycle management, and end‑to‑end process reliability.

Support master data management and golden‑source initiatives to ensure data integrity, consistency, and alignment across domains.

Assist the Data Operations Lead in designing, refining, and implementing data operations processes, supporting use cases from initial scoping through to delivery.

Collaborate closely with Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Solutions Architecture, and technology partners to identify, prioritise, and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.

Contribute to internal and business‑led projects by providing operational insights, executing assigned tasks, and supporting the successful delivery of project objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum of 3‑5 years experience in Data Operations or Data Management and investment and/or pensions operations data management.

Undergraduate degree or higher post‑secondary education in a field of study or related (Math, Engineering, Economics, Business, or similar quantitative discipline).

Strong experience with Data Operations in an Enterprise/Corporate environment.

Excellent organisational, analytical, and forward‑thinking skills.

Exceptionally strong work ethic and analytical capabilities, attention to detail & problem‑solving skills.

Strong understanding of key investment finance data management concepts such as security master data, financial statement data, pricing, and market data.

Excellent time‑management skills and ability to work under pressure with multiple or competing deadlines.

Team player with the ability to build strong relationships with business partners.

Experience with direct involvement in mid‑to‑large scale projects and initiatives.

Experience working with financial data vendors such as Bloomberg, S&P and Refinitiv and strong industry products knowledge.

Expected Compensation The expected compensation for this role is an annualised base salary in the range of $70,800 to $95,800. This range reflects the expected range for new hire base salaries and is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Additional variable incentive may be offered depending on organisational, divisional and personal performance. The final total compensation offered will vary depending on your skills, experience and other factors.
