We are seeking a highly skilled

Reporting Automation Specialist

to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining automated reporting pipelines that consolidate data from diverse sources (e.g., Jira, databases, APIs) into actionable, executive-level dashboards and reports using Tableau, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and timeliness.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity, in hybrid work model - 4 days in downtown client's office location.

Core Responsibilities The following balances technical execution with strategic alignment, ensuring the role drives efficiency and informed decision-making:

Partner with executives, data teams, and IT to define reporting requirements.

Identify opportunities to streamline reporting workflows and reduce manual effort.

Create interactive, visually compelling dashboards tailored for executive audiences.

Collaborate with agile teams to align portfolio reporting with business KPIs.

Translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from Jira (agile/project metrics), databases, APIs, and other systems.

Build and maintain automated workflows (e.g., Python, SQL, or tools like Alteryx) to refresh data pipelines.

Optimize queries and calculations for performance and clarity.

Leverage Jira’s API/REST endpoints to extract project metrics (e.g., sprint velocity, backlog status, issue trends).

Document processes and provide training for end-users.

Requirements Required Skill

Technical:

Proficiency in Tableau (calculations, parameters, dashboards).

Experience with Jira (API, JQL, agile metrics).

ETL tools (e.g., Python, SQL, Alteryx) and data warehousing concepts.

Basic scripting/automation (Python, PowerShell).

Soft Skills:

Strong communication to bridge technical and executive teams.

Analytical problem-solving and attention to detail.
