The company operates multiple facilities and field locations across Western Canada and supports customers in sectors such as energy, environmental services, water management, and other heavy industrial markets.
The Opportunity
The Vice President of Operations will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for executing the organization’s strategic and operational priorities. This role provides direct leadership to multiple operational functions including field operations, maintenance, equipment management, and HSE, and plays a central role in ensuring operational readiness, service excellence, and safe, efficient performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Operations Leadership
Provide executive oversight of all operational activities across Canada.
Translate corporate strategy into measurable operational plans and outcomes.
Lead divisional management teams to achieve safety, financial, and performance targets.
Drive operational excellence, efficiency, and scalability across all sites.
Facilities, Equipment & Maintenance
Oversee all facilities, yards, and operational sites to ensure safety, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
Ensure optimal lifecycle management of fleet and equipment assets.
Strengthen preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
Optimize capital and operating expenditures related to facilities, equipment, and maintenance.
Safety
Champion a visible and deeply embedded safety culture.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Drive continuous improvement in HSE programs, training, and incident management.
Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Financial & Performance Management
Manage operational budgets, cost control frameworks, and performance metrics.
Collaborate with Finance and executive leadership to support forecasting and planning.
Monitor KPIs including safety, utilization, productivity, downtime, and service quality.
Lead operational improvement efforts to enhance profitability and organizational performance.
People Leadership
Build, mentor, and retain high‑performing leaders across operations.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Direct workforce planning, training, and succession planning initiatives.
Strengthen labour and contractor management practices.
Stakeholder & Customer Engagement
Serve as a key operational partner to the President, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
Engage with key customers, regulators, and strategic partners as a senior representative.
Support business development efforts by ensuring operational readiness and exceptional service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field (advanced degree an asset).
15+ years of progressive operations leadership experience within: industrial services, energy services, equipment rental/manufacturing, water/wastewater, or related heavy industrial sectors.
Experience managing multi‑site operations and large workforce environments.
Strong background in fleet/equipment maintenance, facilities oversight, and HSE leadership.
Demonstrated success improving operational performance and leading change.
Knowledge of Canadian regulatory and safety frameworks.
Strong financial acumen with experience managing operational budgets.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% across Canadian operations.
