What will you do?
Drive enterprise-wide alignment on safeguarding RBC’s interests, emphasizing clarity, consistency, and adaptability in addressing emerging threats.
Partner with risk owners to strengthen control design, execution, and sustainability, ensuring practices evolve with organizational and threat landscapes.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executives, translating complex, transverse risks into actionable insights and fostering risk-informed strategies.
Drive cultural accountability: influence stakeholders to prioritize resilience against interference, emphasizing ethical leadership and collective ownership.
Deliver board-level insights and provide concise, forward-looking reporting on risk posture, trends, and emerging threats, supported by KRIs and scenario analysis.
Enable governance effectiveness: ensure forums receive timely, actionable intelligence for decision-making, with clear escalation protocols for critical risks.
Assess and elevate maturity: benchmark RBC’s capabilities against leading practices, identifying gaps and prioritizing enhancements through influence and partnership.
Monitor horizon risks: track geopolitical, technological, and regulatory shifts to proactively adjust RBC’s defensive posture.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
7+ years of experience in security, insider risk, cyber or a combination
Deep understanding of the Canadian regulatory environment as it relates to integrity, security and resilience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with delivering to diverse executive and regulatory audiences
Proven ability to influence enterprise policy and risk practices
Nice-to-have
Experience in Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Internal Audit, or Compliance
Graduate degree or equivalent in public policy, risk management, insider or cyber risk.
Strategic mindset, with excellent knowledge and understanding of RBC businesses and organization.
