Our client is seeking a strategic advisor and operational leader, supporting the CEO and management team to join their team in
Guelph, Ontario . The
Director of Corporate Affairs
will oversee corporate governance, lead corporate communications, and ensure effective execution of the strategic plan. The
Director of Corporate Affairs
will be an integrator across departments, manage crossโfunctional initiatives and support the CEO in maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategic Support
Provide direct strategic support to the CEO on decisions, risk analysis and advice
Transfer strategic priorities in annual operational planning with work plans, objectives and outcomes
Facilitate management meetings, ensuring effective agendas, actions and issue management
Organizational Coordination and Operations
Support integration across departments ensuring alignment with goals
Support risk management efforts, including identification and development of mitigation plans and reporting it
Lead strategic initiatives
Stakeholder Relations and Communications
Lead Corporate Affairs team that manages communications and government relations and engagement events
Support leadership engagement with appropriate stakeholders
Develop briefing materials, key messages and presentations for Management team
Act as spokesperson for the organization
Act as primary media relations liaison for the organization
Lead department reporting, forecasting and budgets
Desired Profile:
Completion of University Degree in Business Administration, Communications or related discipline
7-10 years of progressive experience in corporate affairs, strategy or governance
Experience working with project management teams an asset
Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams and deliver organizational initiatives
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency with Adobe Software Suite and ability to navigate and use online virtual networking software
Excellent professional communication skills
Excellent Project management and organizational skills
Strong understanding of governance, policy and regulatory operations
Experienced leader who operates with integrity and high emotional intelligence
Experience and understanding of the agricultural sector an asset
Bilingual in English/French is an asset (not required)
