Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a well-established Quebec-based industrial company undergoing a modernization of its IT environment. The organization is looking to strengthen its team with a senior, security-oriented Network Administrator capable of taking ownership of an existing network, improving its security posture, and actively contributing to its modernization.
This role is intended for a
hands-on, field-oriented Network Administrator
who is methodical, autonomous, and enjoys gaining a deep understanding of complex environments, identifying real risks, and implementing concrete solutions—rather than producing purely theoretical recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, secure, and evolve the network infrastructure in a
multi-site environment
Take ownership of
Fortinet / FortiGate environments
(firewalls, security policies, routing, segmentation)
Assess the current network state, identify gaps and vulnerabilities, and propose a
realistic modernization roadmap
Implement proper
network segmentation (VLANs)
to reduce security risks and improve overall resilience
Participate in the redesign of the
WAN architecture
to optimize performance, latency, and branch security
Collaborate with an
external SOC
for security monitoring and incident response activities
Contribute to
cybersecurity awareness initiatives
(e.g., phishing campaigns, security best practices)
Act as the
network technical reference
within the internal IT team
Document network configurations, standards, and best practices
Maintain awareness of
artificial intelligence–related challenges , particularly regarding security, data governance, and emerging traffic patterns ( structured support and internal training provided )
Profile
Minimum
7 years of experience
in network administration
Strong expertise with
Fortinet / FortiGate
(Fortinet certifications considered a major asset)
Excellent command of the following concepts:
Routing and switching
Firewalls and security policies
VLAN segmentation
Multi-site network environments
Security-oriented profile with a
strongly operational, hands-on approach
Proven ability to take over an existing environment and
modernize it progressively
Curiosity and openness toward
artificial intelligence
(AI expertise is not required)
Experience in
SMEs or private-sector organizations
is highly valued
Comfortable working in environments that require initiative, prioritization, and execution
French required , functional English
Employment Details
Permanent, full-time position
Hybrid work model (presence at the Québec City or Montréal office)
Base salary between
$90,000 and $120,000 , depending on experience
Annual bonus
