Senior Operations Manager

Location: Cardinal's head office, 6600 Goreway Drive, Mississauga, ON

We’re looking for an experienced operations leader to keep freight moving smoothly across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. In this role, you’ll oversee day‑to‑day operations in Ontario while managing strong partnerships with agents and customers in Western Canada. Your leadership will ensure freight is delivered safely, on time, and within budget—while continuously improving service and efficiency.

What You’ll Do

Lead day operations across Ontario terminals and customer sites.

Manage relationships with agents and customers in AB and BC to maintain service excellence.

Monitor freight movement, resolve issues quickly, and implement proactive improvements.

Ensure compliance with safety and transportation regulations.

Oversee a small Ontario‑based team, providing coaching, structure, and clear accountability.

Support recruitment, performance management, scheduling, and return‑to‑work processes.

Build strong customer relationships and support transitions for new or expanding business.

Manage budgets, KPIs, and operational standards.

What You Bring

5+ years of progressive experience in transportation or logistics.

Strong leadership skills with experience developing high‑performing teams.

Proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑urgency environment.

Excellent judgment, communication skills, and a customer‑focused mindset.

Strength in process improvement, problem solving, and operational execution.
