Jr. High LA & Science 8 Teacher - Term Contract

Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) is a private Alberta accredited Christian school located in the Southwest of Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the education of children in Grades JK-9. GCA is a member of AISCA (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) as well as ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). GCA has a head of school, two principals, three vice principals and a staff of over 125 serving approximately 1000 students.

GCA has an opportunity for a 1.0 FTE

LA & Science 8 Teacher.

Under the direction and mentorship of the Jr. High Principal, this individual will be responsible for a home room class, teaching LA and Science for grade 8 and providing extracurricular support where required. This position is a term contract from August 26, 2026, to June 25, 2027.

Is able to clearly express his or her faith and relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour

Bachelor of Education

AB Permanent or Interim Certificate

Skills Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, digital delivery and field trips

Design effective strategies to meet the children’s diverse learning needs

Effective communication skills

Ability to handle confidential information

Fluent in English

Excellent English written and oral communication skills

Proven attention to detail, organizational and documenting / tracking skills, as well as analytical problem-solving abilities
