Mobile Automation Engineer (Java, Selenium, Appium)
We’re looking for a Mobile Automation Engineer to help drive quality across web and mobile platforms, building robust automated testing solutions and contributing to high-performing engineering teams.
This role combines hands‑on automation with technical leadership — ideal for someone who enjoys improving testing strategy, mentoring others, and ensuring software is delivered with confidence and reliability.
The Role
You’ll play a key part in defining and implementing testing approaches across projects, working closely with developers, QA, and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality software.
You will:
Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks using Java, Selenium, and mobile tools such as Appium
Define testing strategies covering functional, regression, and end‑to‑end scenarios across web and mobile applications
Lead and support teams of developers and QA engineers to improve quality practices
Provide technical guidance on automation, tooling, and testing standards
Collaborate with product, delivery, and client stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage
Conduct code and test reviews to maintain high quality and consistency
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, automated testing workflows
Troubleshoot complex issues and drive root‑cause analysis
Stay up to date with emerging tools and practices in automation and mobile testing
What We’re Looking For
Strong experience in Java development and test automation
Deep knowledge of Selenium and automation frameworks
Hands‑on experience with mobile testing tools such as Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest
Experience testing both web and mobile applications (manual and automated)
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile delivery, and modern engineering workflows
Experience using Git and tools such as Jira or Confluence
Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross‑functional teams
Experience mentoring or leading engineers is highly valued
Nice to Have
Experience leading testing initiatives or managing small teams
Exposure to client‑facing environments or consultancy delivery
Experience improving automation maturity within teams or organisations
