Operations Manager | Chemical Manufacturing

Overview We’re hiring an experienced Operations Manager to lead a multi-unit chemical manufacturing site with full accountability for HSE, Quality, Productivity, and Manufacturing Excellence. This role oversees multiple production areas (gases, derivatives, batch operations, utilities) and leads a team of superintendents, engineering, and ~80 unionized personnel. You’ll drive Operational Excellence, OEE/MDC improvements, safety culture, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering closely with site leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead site operations with accountability for HSE, Quality, Cost, and Output

Own production execution, S&OP alignment, and performance KPIs

Drive OEE, capacity improvement, and Operational Excellence initiatives

Manage unionized operations, labor relations, and workforce planning

Build strong training, succession, and performance management programs

Qualifications

B.S. in Chemical Engineering (or related discipline)

P.Eng (Ontario) or eligibility to obtain

10+ years of operations experience in chemical, petrochemical, nuclear, or heavy industrial manufacturing

Proven leadership in unionized environments

Strong knowledge of Ontario safety and operating regulations
