Role Overview
The Commercial Director, Clinical Research Acceleration is responsible for leading the commercial growth of HEALWELL AI’s
Patient Identification for Clinical Trials
business.
This is a revenue‑carrying leadership role with direct accountability for achieving annual sales targets, expanding market penetration across CROs and sponsors, and ensuring successful execution of customer initiatives in partnership with internal delivery teams.
The role is GTA‑based and operates in a hybrid model, with regular travel to customer sites and industry conferences. The Commercial Director will represent HEALWELL AI externally and contribute to thought leadership and promotional initiatives supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Sales Accountability
Own and deliver against an annual revenue target for the Patient Identification for Clinical Trials offering
Develop and execute a strategic business plan to achieve defined revenue and growth objectives
Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline across CROs, sponsors, and investigator networks
Lead full sales cycles from prospecting through negotiation and contract execution
Identify expansion opportunities within existing customer accounts
Commercial Strategy & Market Development
Shape go‑to‑market strategy, positioning, and competitive differentiation for the Clinical Trials Patient ID offering
Translate enrollment, feasibility, and site performance challenges into clear commercial value propositions
Drive promotional initiatives and manage an allocated promotional budget to support business development objectives
CRM, Reporting & Forecasting
Utilize and maintain the company’s CRM system (currently Salesforce) to document customer interactions, pipeline progression, and project activity
Provide regular and accurate revenue forecasting to leadership
Maintain disciplined reporting on active accounts, pipeline status, and revenue performance metrics
Delivery Oversight & Customer Success
Ensure successful execution of customer initiatives in partnership with Clinical Science, Operations, and Delivery teams
Maintain executive‑level customer relationships post‑sale to support retention and expansion
Monitor customer outcomes to identify renewal and upsell opportunities
External Representation
Represent HEALWELL AI at industry conferences, customer meetings, and promotional events
Participate in panels and podium presentations supporting visibility of the Patient ID offering
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
10-15+ years of experience in clinical research, clinical development, or clinical operations
Experience within a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) and/or pharmaceutical or biotechnology organization
Demonstrated success in revenue‑generating, business development, or commercial leadership roles
Strong understanding of patient recruitment, enrollment challenges, site operations, and protocol‑driven workflows
Experience managing complex enterprise sales cycles
Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) for pipeline management and revenue forecasting
Proven ability to engage senior executives and represent organizations externally
Based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with willingness to travel
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling clinical research services, digital health platforms, or data‑driven solutions to CROs or sponsors
Familiarity with AI‑enabled patient identification or real‑world data applications
Experience managing promotional or marketing budgets
Conference podium or panel experience
Work Environment
Hybrid role: primarily remote with occasional in‑office presence required
Regular travel across Canada, with occasional international travel
