Position Summary
The Director of Operations leads the operational engine of Omnify Lighting, ensuring customer opportunities are converted into profitable, well‑executed projects and delivered reliably through strong manufacturing, disciplined supply chain management, and scalable operational systems. As a member of the leadership team, the Director of Operations drives operational performance, margin discipline, and cross‑functional alignment across Sales, Finance, Engineering, Customer Success, and Production.
The role plays a central part in Omnify’s growth by strengthening the systems, processes, and teams that enable the business to scale while delivering profitable, reliable execution and a best‑in‑class customer experience.
Core Responsibilities
Order Management & Customer Delivery
Lead the full opportunity‑to‑delivery process, ensuring seamless coordination from quoting and order entry through engineering collaboration, production release, shipment, and fulfillment.
Provide leadership oversight of Customer Success and order management processes, including quoting support, order entry, and customer communication.
Partner with Finance to maintain pricing discipline and protect margins during the quoting and order approval process.
Improve order accuracy, turnaround time, and cross‑functional handoffs across Sales, Engineering, Production, and Logistics teams through clear processes and operational controls.
Manufacturing & Operational Performance
Lead production operations, including manufacturing, assembly, packaging, and shipping.
Align production planning and workforce capacity with sales forecasts and backlog.
Implement Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, labour efficiency, and quality performance.
Establish operational KPIs, standardized processes, and structured performance rhythms that drive accountability and visibility across teams.
Supply Chain, Logistics & Global Operations
Oversee procurement, supplier management, and inventory planning across domestic and offshore production models.
Drive improvements in inventory accuracy, working capital efficiency, and material availability.
Manage domestic and international logistics operations and ensure effective coordination with freight providers and customs brokers.
Optimize supplier performance, landed costs, and delivery reliability.
Systems, Process Optimization & Operational Strategy
Lead operational system improvements within Epicor ERP, including MRP planning, workflow automation, and production visibility tools.
Drive process standardization across quoting, order management, production planning, and fulfillment to support scalable growth.
Ensure data integrity across BOMs, routings, inventory records, and costing structures.
Partner with IT and Finance to improve operational reporting, cost visibility, and decision‑making tools.
Establish Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes to align forecasting, capacity planning, and procurement decisions.
Qualifications
7+ years of operations leadership experience in manufacturing
Experience in engineered product environments (lighting, electrical, or similar industries preferred)
Proven success managing quote‑to‑delivery execution in custom or project‑based businesses
Strong international logistics and cross‑border supply chain experience
ERP/MRP implementation and operational systems leadership experience
Demonstrated ability to build scalable processes and lead cross‑functional teams
