What will you be doing!
Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with business leaders to understand their goals, challenges, and priorities.
Acting as a trusted advisor by providing insight into how technology can support business objectives.
Proactively identifying areas where Information Technology (IT) can add value to business processes and outcomes.
Leading the IT demand intake process by ensuring requests are captured, evaluated, and aligned with IT strategy and business objectives.
Facilitating discussions with business leaders to clarify requirements, prioritize initiatives, and manage expectations.
Maintaining a transparent demand backlog and ensuring effective communication of project status and timelines.
Collaborating with business leaders to identify and deliver value-driven IT initiatives and assisting in the development of supporting business cases.
Ensuring business outcomes are defined, tracked, and achieved through IT projects.
Advocating for the measurement of IT value delivery using established frameworks and metrics.
Facilitating prioritization discussions and supporting project governance to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Participating in IT governance planning forums to ensure business priorities are adequately represented.
Supporting risk assessment and mitigation strategies for IT initiatives.
Serving as the primary point of contact between IT and the business for escalations and updates on key initiatives.
Developing and delivering clear communications to ensure stakeholders are informed about IT services and initiatives.
Acting as a liaison to ensure feedback from the business is integrated into IT strategy and planning.
Advocating for business process improvements and technology enablement opportunities with long-term sustainability in mind.
Identifying gaps in processes, systems, or capabilities and proposing improvements to enhance efficiency.
Driving initiatives to promote collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing between IT and business teams.
Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What We Are Looking For
Education
University degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
An MBA or related qualification is desirable.
Experience
10+ years of experience in Information Technology and/or Information Management roles.
5+ years of experience in IT business relationship management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Experience in an IT consulting role is beneficial.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of Business Relationship Management Institute (BRMI) principles and frameworks.
Proven experience managing IT demand intake processes and portfolio management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
Proven management competencies including people leadership, financial management, business planning, and strategic planning.
Strong understanding of Change Management and Project Management principles and practices to support a close integration with Business Relationship.
Ability to set expectations with business partners and effectively leverage governance for a positive business partner experience.
Ability to influence and break down silos within an organization as well across organizations.
Ability to focus on business value results, rather than solutions.
Building and maintaining credibility at all organizational levels.
Remaining connected, aware, and informed of evolving IT trends and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security.
Security Clearance Eligibility Required
Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”
Working Conditions
Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.

Location: Fully Remote
This position is offered on a fully remote basis, allowing you to work from home anywhere in Canada. You’ll collaborate virtually with a dynamic team across CNL sites, helping to advance Canada’s clean energy and environmental goals from your home office.
Please note: This is a remote position supporting the Chalk River Laboratory, Ontario.
